As I keep getting BSOD messages I decided to run the Windows Memory Diagnostic. The results were that all six tests failed. Now I am running the Memtest and currently with 72% completed, there are 560000 errors and increasing.

I'm not really experienced with computers and not sure what to do now to try and fix this, any ideas? Is it just best to contact Dell as I'm still under warrenty and if so, what would cause these errors?

    Thanks in advance.

it sounds like your RAM is fried...but I've never experienced this issue first hand. can anyone else chip in?

also, try running the Dell Diagnostics as well...if it gives you any error messages you should call Dell and give them that info.

    assuming you have 2 sticks...

    1. take one out, then test
    2. replace with the other stick, then test

it may only be 1 stick that's bad

once you figure out the offending stick(s), contact dell and get replacements

I'm running the Dell Diagostics now and am getting errors all over the place including suspected memory components DIMM_A and DIMM_B.

I'm under warrenty with Collect and Return, CompleteCare and Next Business Day On-Site so do you think it would be possible to call a technician over rather them receive replacements through the post?

Even if I get them through the post, it would be difficult for me to put them in as I'm not very experienced in opening up laptops and fiddling about with the hardware.
