I just installed Beta1 of Windows Vista on my 9300!.
It is really COOOOLLL, only thing missing is a sound driver (latest XP one is not working), any idea where can I get one?

assuming you got the beta via proper channels (you're an MSDN subscriber or similar), i would suggest contancting microsoft. doubtful you'll get any help as it's a beta, but you can try.
-
do u have to pay to get windows vista beta version...??
-
I have contact them, but they have drivers only for the corporate kind of models (lattitude, optiplex etc)
.
It looks so good that I am going to keep it just like that for a wile... -
Could you tell us what is so cool about it and what is much better about it than xp. thanks.
-
I think the beta shipped with all the drivers. I personally didn't think it was all that great. The black taskbar and start button was kinda cool. Couldn't figure out how to get the folders in explorer to show up, but I didn't try that hard.
-
Like luck said, do you have to pay for that, can you download it online for free? Because i want to try it on my 8600.
-
So it is for sure that Microsoft is making a 32-bit compatible version of Windows Vista. Or am I missing something?
-
Beta version I have is 32 bits.. later this year 64 bits will be available.
PS> You dont have to pay for it, you just need to have MSDN subscription or be a Beta tester. -
if u do get it online...then can u have the option of either starting vista or xp when u turn on the computer??...??
-
i think he was talking about downloading a warez version. -
I guess i need a msdn subscription.
-
try posting up a screenshot of the new windows vista. see if its worth getting it.

i think it looks nice, dont plan on getting it when it comes out, though. -
vista doesnt look that much different from windows media center edition. the new type of taskbar. but it does look a hell of a lot better than win xp. the folders look a lot like apple's os.
-
Ok like southern girl said, huma and everyone, that is illegal if you download it if you dont have a msdn subscription, or you are a tester. So don't!

Okay, so the beta version is 32-bit. Will the final version that is released to the public be available in 32-bit? Or is just going to be 64-bit?
-
It is illegal, correct. So is the mp3's/video's/games etc you've downloaded and didn't pay for.
-
i think its going to be both because they released a 32bit and 64bit beta of vista. -
too bad all of us with the pM cant use the 64bit one
-
Both versions are going to be available, as they are for Windows XP (32 and 64 bits), problem right now with 64 bits are the drivers.... printers, audio etc should release 64 bit drivers in order to work with 64 bits OS.
-
Sorry, huma i havent downloaded any music, videos, games, etc, without paying for it! So STOP accusing me and others i have!

This thread has gone on long enough. It is off topic since you are discussing Vista in general, and not the driver. This discussion about the pirated version is illegal of course since most of you are not developers, and these type of activities are NOT supported by NBR.com.
If you want to discuss general things about Vista, then post on the following thread
