I recently did a Windows reformat and was able to use Sounthern Girl's walthrough. However, it appears that I am not able to install the sound driver?? It says "device not found". I have not yet ran the Windows Update as I have no internet connection at this time. Would this solve my problem??

It is a step in the right direction. You might want to extract the driver and then update it through device manager.

If you could get your internet working, I would go to dell support and download the drivers there. At least you know all of the drivers there will work since they are what originally came on your machine. GL

Where exactly are you trying to get the driver from? Is it the CD or did you copy your driver's folder?
