Just bought a Dell 8600 1.7GHz Centrino and it has an added Dell 1400 802.11a/b/g wirelass card. The question is, how do I deactivate the 'Centrino' wireless 802.11b built in card and ensure that only my faster 802.11g card is ever active?

Your card auto detects the speeds available on teh network and will adjust to the fastest one. So, B won't connect unless that's the only option.
