pretty sure its compatible, as i think it used to be offered as a possible configuration. but i heard the 5100 is not a good card, i recommend the 5300 or the newer 6200 (if compatible, which i think is)

    I would go with a 6200 or a 6300.

get a 6300.thats best one out there.you won't regret it.Also its a 3x3 card which would be able to perform better than others if u plan to use 3x3 routers

    The 6200 uses 2 antennas.

    The 6300 uses 3 antennas.

I just got a 1558 with a 6200 so it definitely is compatible. I have not opened it up though ... so I am note sure if Dell puts in 2 or 3 antennas. Sometimes I have heard that they put a third in there, even if it is not used.

IF you are lucky ... Dell throws 3 in there. Otherwise, if you go the 6300 route ... you will need to get a third antenna if you are going to maximize its potential.

If you use WiMax ... you could also go with a 6250.

    Edit:

Currently, there are no 3x3 routers out there. 3x3 routers would support 450. Everything is still 300 I believe. So you would be totally fine with the 6200.
