Finalizing what i want for my son's college laptop, the E 1505 5200 1 gig etc...which wireless card is recommended and explain why as i am computer illiterate..Thanks!!

I would choose either option 1 or option 2. Option 2 offers a/b/g wireless connectivity while a only offers b/g. N is currently a draft standard and not finalized so there are some issues with various routers.
If his college will have any "a" networks you should use the intel card so it can talk to them. Otherwise either card will be fine. Wireless cards are cheap and install is easy so if later on N becomes a standard and is needed the install is a quick switch. To learn more look here:
