My 1530 came with the 1490 card. The range seems ok. Is there a faster card out there with better range? Any info would be great

It depends on your network. There are N cards out that would be faster if you have a wireless N router. You may find the Intel version to be better in either G or N.

Yea, I've never used any dell cards before, but I'm pretty sure you'll get some improvements by using Intel's 4965 card.
