For an Inspiron 1546, I've reinstalled Windows 7 32 SP1 from scratch using a generic Microsoft ISO from MSDN. The Wireless button (F2) does not seem to do anything. Same for the battery button (F3). Are specific Dell apps required for these buttons to work? The device manager seems to show all devices as working, including the camera, etc. But I haven't installed any Dell specific software as it seems to be quite old.
    Thanks
