Searched the forums and cannot get a clear cut answer. I am wanting to upgrade my wireless card to the Next Gen Wireless N for my e1505. I current have the 39**AG option. It looks like on the newer wireless card 4965AGN that it has 3 antennas. I do not think I have 3 antennas so how would I install this. How would I get the other antenna and how hard would it be to install.

Has anyone done the upgrade? How is the performance? Looking for range and speed. Transfering a lot of files from my notebook to my desktop and it would help. Thanks.

The range of the standard A/B/G (non-wireless N) cards are about 150 feet. The new Intel Next Gen Wireless N is equipped with MIMO technology, which doubles that range and ensures a more stable connection. In addition, the antennas are built into the monitor, so there is no installation required on your part.

Well I have heard of some people upgrading there cards but currently only had 2 plugs for the wireless cards and the new wireless N requires 3. Just not sure how they achieved the boundary.

i havent upgraded it, but i got it.

Compared to my other laptop (Acer) there is a conciderable range difference between the two... the networks it picks up are weaker than of my 4965AGN...

the network speeds that it is capable of doing is 270mbps (as long as you have a n-router that supports that speed)... also as "Forte" said, the range is much more than standard (as i have explained), it "apparently" goes up to a range of 300 feet.

I can comfortably sit up the end of my garden with 3 bars signal strenth and with no slow internet speeds etc... but it does depend on the router though aswell, i have a Netgear DG834PN...
