    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, so I apologize if I'm not posting in the right section.
A little over a month ago I bought an XPS and the internet connection was going about as well as it did with my previous laptop (which wasn't great because of the router). So my landlady got a new router from the internet company a week ago and that is when things started getting worse. It kept on disconnecting because of problems with that IP address (I have an Archos tablet that was connecting without problems). I would troubleshoot and it would sometimes connect again, but not for long.

Saturday night I put it in sleep mode and usually the fans stop working after a couple of minutes, but this time they didn't. I lifted the lid to find a blue screen that informed me that there was a problem and I need to reboot, and if it's not the first time that it happens, I should contact someone. So I rebooted, but apparently the system doesn't recognize my wireless adapter anymore. According to the hardware test it's missing or uninstalled.

The dell website seems to want to be very helpful with everyone's purchasing needs, but not so much when it comes to technical problems, and it looks like the first step in technical assistance requires an internet connection. I'm a foreign student in the Netherlands and I bought the laptop from their dutch online shop, but I would prefer the troubleshooting to be in English.

I have an Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 (2x2 b/g/n+ Bluetooth Combo Card), and if it matters the internet provider is Ziggo.
