    Hi Guys,

I posted a question a few weeks ago about this (to which I haven't recieved a resolution/solved it myself yet), and have a slightly differnent question. To those who ordered the WUSB card with their Dell system, which Belkin Hub did you get, the F5U302 or the F5U301?

How did you guys go about connecting the hub to the laptop? The Dell software asks for a pin, and I am unable to find one for the hub. Dell support is clueless and claim to ask Belkin. I called Belkin and they tell me that the hub won't work with the Dell internal card. If that was the case, why would Dell sell them together??

I am sure it does work with the Dell card; Dell's not stupid. I would love to get one for myself, but $150 is way out of my budget for what amounts to one plug.

I would like to get one to save the wear and tear of unplugging/re-plugging every day, so hopefully the prices will come down soon.

The Belkin F5U303 wireless hub came with my M1330 when I ordered the WUSB card. You need to go through the association procedure before it will work by either entering the PIN number on the bottom of the hub or use the direct cable method connecting it directly to your laptop with the supplied cable. The WUSB works well with my keyboard, mouse, and scanner but I can't get my HP Color Laserjet 2550 to work with it. Hope this helps...

    Nine29,

What do you mean by supplied cable. I didnt get any cable with my laptop or the hub...Was the cable a part of the hub packaging?

Also, what is the format of your pin. The only pin-like device I have is in the format of something like a MAC Address. Also, did you have to install the supplied Belkin software or are you using the standard Dell WUSB connection manager?

    Thanks for your replies!!

I am sure Dell is not stupid, but I think they have sent me the wrong hub, which is why I am unable to associate my hub with my laptop. But you are definetly right...150 bucks is quite expensive for this. I think that the majority of the cost is because of the Belkin hub. Forutnately, my sales rep offered it to me as a 50 dollar upgrade, and hence I took it.

    Thanks!

I ordered dell WUSB and Belkin wireless USB hub for M1530 (F5U303-HUB FCC ID: K7SF5U302HUB). I don't know why the FCC id says 302HUB.

The pin# for mine is printed on a white sticker below the Serial number and MAC address. The pin for mine is WU835F3263 if that helps you to check the number of digits and alphanumeric characters, though the number of alphanumeric characters might not be the same.

After installing the Wireless USB manager software from dell, click new connection, select Pin association and enter pin. I was able to successfully connect to my usb device on hub this way.

I have read somewhere that it works only on windows vista, but not sure .

Mine also included a USB cable to connect from the hub to the M1330 to associate them, instead of using the PIN association. Both methods seemed to work. Just wish I could get the printer to work though...

Okay guys...thanks for all your responses. It appears that Dell has sent me the wrong hub. I have the Belkin F5U301 hub which is listed on Belkin's website as "Belkin Cable Free USB Hub". I tried contacting Dell about this already and it appears that they are clueless and they keep assuring me that they have sent me the correct hub. I also called up Belkin and they keep telling me that there is no way to interface my laptop's internal card with any of their wireless USB hubs and that I need to buy a USB dongle from them. I am going to call up some of my contacts at Dell tomorrow and get this sorted out because this is ridiculous.

Thanks to everyone for helping me figure out the issue.

Yeah, current UWB tech isn't very good...its possible that it will not work any time soon. I'd suggest you ask Dell for a refund on that part, plus a little compensation (since if you do rebuy in the future, it will cost more than $50 to get something that actually works).

You might not get anything other than the $50, but given what I am hearing that is what I'd ask for.

Thanks for the advice Greg. Let's see what they will do for me.
