    Hello,

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 9300 and have noticed that when I run on battery power, the wireless card (Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG) has trouble staying connected to my router. It will disconnect and reconnect several times (not in a row, but over time). When it's plugged in, it stays connected all the time.

Is this somehow defective or is there a setting I need to change somewhere to make it stay connected better? Anyone else had this problem?

I doubt this is going to solve the problem but worth a try...there is a setting under Dell's Quickset that does control the wireless card, and it is preset to deactivate your wireless card on battery. If you haven't already, you'll need to change it to activate on battery.

I had disconnect problems even on mains and fixed it by updating my wireless driver beyond the one provided by Dell to a later one direct from Intel. Just an idea. :)
