    Hello everyone,

I recently installed Windows Server 2008 on my Dell Studio 1535 because I like it's small footprint while still providing some very neat features of Vista. Everything works great on it except when I try to install the wireless drivers, the installation hangs and then Windows Error Reporting pops up a window saying that there are problems with Dell WLAN Wireless Networking. Has anyone else had trouble with installing Server 2008 on their Studio 1535?

Try and extract the files to a directory then install the card manually from windows add hardware control panel.

the vista (64bit or 32bit depending on your version (should work). I have an Intel card, so i cant give you exact advice, but that is what I would try first.

    Thanks dseo80,

So I extracted all the files and tried to install the network card manual, which did make the device visible in network connections, but when I went to enable it, a dialog box popped up saying to was enabling the connection, but then it just stayed disabled. From what I can tell, Dell has a utility that is coupled with the driver and it must be started along with windows for the connection to work. The wireless networking utility seems to be crashing each time I start windows, thus the driver refuses to work.

Any help with getting the utility to work would be appreciated.

    Thank You atbnet!

After enabling wireless LAN, I am able to install my complete wireless driver. Windows Server 2008 is simply amazing and with all my drivers + most of my programs installed, I'm still only using ~450MB of RAM!

    Again, thanks so much!
