I have an Inspiron E1505. I turned it off yesterday and today it won't turn on. Instead the battery light just slowly flashes red. The battery is in and everything is plugged in, does this mean I need a new battery or is there some there possible solution?

Try unplugging everything and removing the battery, then hold the power button down for 30 seconds. After that, boot only with the ac adapter in (battery out) and if that works, try booting with the battery; if not, then you have a bigger problem.

Try jiggling the power cord in the back. It sounds like its not getting power...might be a bad connection somewhere.
