    Isn't it typical with Dell?

No it's not, normally they are first out the door with any new CPU. The only thing I can think of is that the Penryns are in short supply due to whatever issue they are having. It is strange though since HP seems to be selling T9300 DV series for just under a grand with their nice new coupon. Maybe their allocation was first since they are the largest manufacturer. I think I will wait for montevina to get the Penryn so I went ahead and canceled my Sony SZ order and got a Dell with Merom and SSD. It should hold me over for a few more months :D

Actually they're among the last ones with Santa Rosa, so it is sort of typical with Dell.

Maybe with SR, but that is not normal for Dell, in fact, I don't remember them being late with SR, at all since I had a SR D630.

In any event, Dell likes to have a steady supply of parts before they introduce them, and clearly the T8/9xxx are in short supply.
