Well I did it. I was going with a MBP, but the more I though about it the more I realized I much rather have a smaller and lighter note book with the ability still throw on an old game or something like HL2, and WoW now here and there. Also I know I would use Mac OS for the first month and then after not use it very much. All my software in on windows. Lastly the 8600GT is nice but I really finding gaming not that important any more. Hanging out with friends and my G/F are more important. Plus I have my Xbox 360 and that will cover all my new cutting edge stuff. Here is my configuration:

    XPS 1330
    -Crimson red
    -T7300 2.0GHZ 4MB L2 cache
-1GB(Will add a single 2GB stick and sell one of the 512's) Was cheaper than Dells 2.0GB option plus I will have 2.5 and not 2GB's.
    -8400GS
    -LED LCD with VGA Camera
-120GB 5400 RPM Drive.(Going to get a 160 or 250GB Drive) Dells upgrade prices were really high. Plus I can sell the old 120GB for 75-80$
-4 cell Plus a 9 Cell. I can use the 4 cell around the house and the 9 cell when I need the extra juice
    -Intel Draft N card
    -Biometric Finger Print reader
    -2.0EDR Bluetooth

I got the Audigy HD Software pack. I am hoping it will help a bit. No software, no anti virus ect... no ISP requested, and just standard warranty. If I get a issue with in the first few months(Hope I don't) then I might add extra coverage. Total came to just over 1900$. They gave me off 100$. They would not budge much past that, but that 100$ did come off the base and not the total. All in all I will be awaiting my new laptop. My expected ship date is the 7/29  but with Dell normally it will ship much before that. Also I have 21 days after it ships to really make sure this is what I want and that its worth the 1900$ I just dropped on it. I think it will but only time will really tell. At the moment I feel like a Kid in a candy store :D

i got the 1gb ram on mine too with the same idea of upgrading, are you sure the 1 gb is 2 sticks of 512 and not 1 stick of 1 gb?

Yup Dell is cheap. I can almost guarantee its 2 512 sticks. Because they advertise Dual Channel which requires 2 sticks. I wish it was 1x1GB then I could have 3GB in a notebook which can use
