Anyone notice that Dell has a new advertising banner running accross the top of their screen relating to WoW. Something that apparently is waiting to be revealed on December 11?

Is that definitively WoW? It does look WoW-like, but I'd assume they're going text-free (other than the "You are not prepared" slogan) to cover gaming in general. If I had to guess, maybe they're releasing the 8800M then?

If you actually use the link you will see it is WoW.

    Good catch :)

Hmmm.... I wonder what Dell is up to? Could be the M1530 but that really isn't going to be a huge "surprise" with the WoW stuff.

Maybe they are going to release the 8800 for the M1730?

I put my info in and submitted it and it says you'll recieve info on 12/4.

Hmm, the 1530 released with a WOW skin? :D
Note I think that would be horribly tacky, but I'm just guessing.

    Definetely a WoW promotion.

Oh my god... I'm excited now. And also worried that getting my XPS M1710 now with this on the horizon was a mistake, argh. Stupid Dell... haha. Well, at least it's only.. like a 1-2 week wait. Not bad at all.

I really have no clue what it could be.

Well, you may recall Dell auctioned some WoW laptops last year with custom airbrushed covers. This sounds like an expanded effort in that regard.

Whether they will be announcing an 8800 solution with it is another story. I doubt a connection there.

I doubt this has anything to do with the m1530.. something more gaming oriented than that I would assume.

i could see a 'wow' laptop ala special case, colors, icon themes, wallpapers, etcetc. remember a bit ago they did this with a keyboard. that just sounds like something very much up their alley just in time for xmas. oh heck maybe they'll throw in a figurine to really top of people's sundae

Maybe Dell will promote the new WoW add-on "Wrath of the Lich King", coming out mid-january (although the release date hasn't been comfrmed yet), coupled with the new XPS 1530.

The release date for the expansion is looking to be well into 2008, as in Fall, not January.

I'm guessing this is going to just be a pretty little cover and some WoW-loaded laptop/desktop PC for the holidays, but who knows.

I'm excited to see what it is regardless.
