So I ordered my dell back on 1/23 (XPSm1730) and got an amazing discount on it. My old computer broke down on me randomly and I am currently in college so getting this computer asap is a MUST. I have ordered from dell before and arrived the computer on the exact date they said I was so I figured I would try again....well this doesn't seem like its going to happen this time around. My est ship date is today (2/3) and my arrival date is 2/6. Now unless by some miracle I get an email saying its being shipped in the next few hours occurs, I think I may be in for some trouble.
Based on the results that many of you have experienced I was wondering if it looks like im heading towards trouble now that my expected ship date has happened and I haven't heard from dell. Upon calling them I just get the usual automated voice saying "I have some important.....your product is currently in the build stage". I called them a few days after I placed the order and spoke to a gentleman that made me feel like I was wasting him time. I had called to make sure nothing was on back order of what I ordered and to stress that I NEEDED that computer for college. (the past few weeks have been miserable without it studying, MCATS, etc) However, he sounded annoyed with my call and told me it would be there on time and I couldn't do a thing except wait my turn. I thanked him in any case and ended the conversation there. Now I was wondering if anyone has any strategies to use with dell to help move my computer along if that is even possible at this point, that would be phenomenal!
Thanks very much!!

I contacted the Dell Exec's through email and got a call from the Executive Escalation Team. Call Customer Care back, tell them you'd like to speak to their supervisor. If that doesn't work for you, the email addresses for the execs are on this forum.
But don't let them blow you off. I got a great response from the Escalation Team, and they'll help you out. -
That is really helpful! Thanks so much. So here is an update:
I called Dell today and asked them briefly about the delay. I then asked if there was anything they could do to help expedite the process. I was told that Dell has no control over the process and that it will be built whenever its built....When I asked if I could just speak with a manager for a moment about it, she said that wasn't possible (I had heard all this on the forums before so I was kinda expecting this) In any case I didn't have the energy to keep battling with her about this (just got done taking 2 tests, yikes!) I then decided to take you up on your advice and I emailed Donald a quick email explaining my situation and what I had been through up to this point. I concluded by asking him for any support he could give me that would help get my computer to me faster. Hopefully this works! Thanks again for your help -

I ordered an E6400 on 1/23 and got an email yesterday that the ship date was moved back from 2/3 to 2/10. Our Account Manager had no explanation for the delay.

They just started Kitting! Thank god, haha. Waiting for this f@#&ing build stage to end has caused a lot of academic stress, but now its finally over! With any luck Ill have it by Wednesday with the 1 day shipping

Could be worse, especially if you ordered an E4300. Just got this form our Dell Account Rep: "The E4300 was delayed out the start due to issues with the Intel 2.2 and 2.4 processor. There is a specific processor that goes in these 13inch machines, and this was what was holding them up. The E4300 still has that 25 day processor delay. Fun times."
My E6400 that was ordered on 1/23 is still listed as being in Production. It's already been delayed once. It's supposed to ship tomorrow. We'll soon see. -
I spoke too soon it appears...Just checking if I had made it to the testing stage yet, I got a rude awakening that I have been placed back into the build stage!!!! Tomorrow is the final day that dell said they would ship my computer out by after the first delay. So does anyone know what this means exactly? Does that mean that it was kitting earlier today, but someone just put it in wrong or....?

So I've been in boxing for about 2 days now and was wondering how much longer I have. I saw 3-4 days on the forum but a lot of you recently have been getting them sooner it seems. Thanks for any advice

My E6400 that was ordered on 1/23 has been delayed twice. It was originally supposed to ship on 2/10 and then 2/17. Our Account Rep said they are catching up (video components caused the delays) and it should go out today.
However, an E4300 I ordered on 2/10 isn't expected to ship until 3/18. CPU's are causing the delays with the 4300 line.
Worried about Order Status
