Hi, first post - was about to order an Inspiron 6400 in UK (E1505) and was reading the technical spec. It states "4x USB 2.0 4-pin connectors (non-powered); 2 at rear, 2 on right-hand side of notebook system"
Very worried about the non powered status of the USB ports as I have various periferals eg pocket hard drive, webcam, that need usb power. Any comments or experience on this. It has spoilt what appears to be an otherwise superb piece of kit.

Hmm....I can tell you this much. You can buy a USB Hub that will have its own power supply, although that would do you much good if you were traveling. I have an i6000, and I think that the ports are powered because my wireless mouse transmitter works and my notebook cooler all work as long as the computer is on. I don't know if that helps you at all, just trying to reply since you haven't gotten a response yet! :)
