My P fell out. Yea that was not meant to come out sounding vulgar, but the P literally fell out! You know that silver P on the lid of the cover, the silver part with the XPS lettering in the middle as more liney-like silver? It turns out those are just chrome stickers. Well mine not only peeled off, but it ripped. It's ruined. Just a warning to you all. Those tight case sleeves? Yea, watch out.
Anything I can do? Can I call Dell and have them mail me a replacement P sticker? Is that covered by the complete care plan? Shouldn't it be? Thanks for any advice.

    Bummer.

I really wonder why companies like Dell don't step up and build laptops correctly.

They know people throw laptop into and out of bags all day long, and yet they still do stupid things like glue the little rubber feet on the bottom.

Does anybody on this planet have a laptop that is not missing some of the rubber feet after just a short while? Retarded.

I should think it's covered by complete care, if not... pour a coke into the keyboard. :shifty

Yeah, most people remove the lettering on the outside of the notebook. It was really easy getting the inspiron off for me.

there are far worse things that could happen, I would just remove the other letters and forget about it, minor cosmetic damage, that doesnt in anyway hinder function or performance is not a worst case scenario, cracked lcd, cpu meltdown, chronic video corruption, hd failure, theft, fire, flood, those would qualify, chill out and enjoy your machine

I would still get it fixed if only to make it easier to sell off down the road.

Oh it's missing the P in XPS.

I'lll give you $20 for the laptop.

A couple of times I had a rubber insert peeled off on my 700m. Dell sent replacement pretty much the next day, so I think you're covered.

CompleteCare covers pretty much everything except deliberate damage, so I think you're covered (if you want that P back! :p)

Would they by any chance have stickers for the entire alphabet? Hell, I'd rearrange mine to spell something cool. Have them send you an "E" and rearrange it to spell SEX..I'm pretty sure that'll grab more attention to your M1210 =p

LOL that's an awesome idea... check out my one of a kind "Dell SEX" Laptop!
Thanks guys. I suppose it isn't the worst thing that could happen. But if it isn't covered, I will have to co-ordinate and pull out the other stickers. :(
I'll call Dell tommorow and keep you updated.

Way off topic, and this dates me, but Apple used to name their computers se and ci and sx.

The letters all meant something. I think x meant math coprocessor, stuff like that.

Anyhow, they released a computer that, according to their nomenclature, was going to be a IIsex :rofl

Anyhow, I think that's where the Quadra/Centris names came from... :rofl
