I have the Dell Bluetooth 350 card in my 1210 right now, but always get lag in my mouse if I also have my headset connected via bluetooth. Would moving up to the 355 2.0 + EDR help that at all? I see where new 1210's can only order the 355 in the online config system, so I assume it is compatable.

If so, can ANYONE find the part number for the 355? I can't find it on their site anywhere to order (I want to come from Dell since I get a corporate discount).

If its not a big issue then consider using a usb mouse.
Also check your mouse settings in control panel.

Which mouse are you using? I am using a 350 card and a V270 mouse, and there is always a slight lag after you don't use the mouse for some seconds... I think it is a bluetooth issue. It doesn't bother me that much, but I don't know you can really get rid of it (unless you use a usb mouse or a regular rf mouse).

    I am using a 270 as well.

It's not that kind of "wake up" lag I am talking about. If both the headset and mouse are connected, and sound starts coming through the headset, the mouse lags about 2 seconds behind everything I do until the sound stops.

Also, I have a habit ot snapping USB items since I keep the laptop tilted in my lap a lot. Also, I like just not having dongles everywhere.

    Thanks!

I thought the only difference between 350 and 355 was brand? 355 is WIDDCOMM I think?

Well mine is listed as Bluetooth 1 or 1.1, while the 355 is listed as 2.0 +EDR. Weird.

Maybe there is a specific driver I can get for my headset? It connects as a high-definition headset, but it's only a cell phone headset. Motorolla 500 I believe, something like that.

upgrading to bt 2.0 will only help if both the mouse and headsets are bt 2.0. If one of them is 1.x, then both will run at 1.x speeds so you will gain nothing.

Bah, ok. I assume one or both are. I'll research it when I get home tonight.

If you are using your laptop for gaming I would suggest getting a USB gaming mouse. I use the Logitech G5 USB mouse to ensure that there is not any lag at all :)
