I'm pretty set on buying an M1530, and I will need one before mid-August for college. I have many times had the urge to order one, but realized that I can actually wait until July to do so. With that said, do you predict there will be a better deal/coupons on the M1530 than there is right now? I'm thinking maybe with the new chipset coming out, combined with just plain ol' time, I can save a hundred or two by waiting.

If I ordered today, with the 25% off coupon, I can get the configuration I want for $1370:

    T9300 2.5 GHz
    160 GB 7200 RPM HDD
    4 GB RAM
    8600M GT
    LED LCD
    Standard battery

Not bad for under $1400 I'd say, but do any of you forsee an even better deal/coupon for this configuration in the next 1-2 months?

    Thanks a ton

That's not a bad deal to say the least. True, the new chipsets are coming out, but that doesn't mean the montevina's are going to be equivalent to the prices that Dell has now for a penryn. You might be spending more for a montevina.

I occasionally look at the dell website to see if my configuration got any cheaper, but it's been the same price for a few weeks now. Maybe they're set on this configuration until a refresh comes out. The best deal I saw were 40% off coupons. You could stick it out until you see those again, but who knows when that will be.

If you really need a laptop, go get it now, but if you still have doubts, then I'd say wait until what happens in the summer. Good luck with your decision.

Dude, some folks are waiting up to 2 months to get their m1530s. If its the right price, does what you want, and your happy with it? Get it. Dell battery prices are already through the roof cause of a fire at the battery plant. The 6 cell battery is holding folks delivery by a month or so.

So Who knows? tommorow a huge earth quake could take out the manufacturing plant and increase your wait time up to a 3-4 months?
So, once again. If the shoe fits. Go for it.

    Yeah good points...
But I just can't give up on that potential 30%+ coupon that might come out within the next 1-2 months

There's no way to predict those eh?

it seem that no matter how long you wait there will always be a better deal some where down the road. You have to decide if you want to chase these, or go for the best deal you can get now because you`ll never know if something better isn`t just around the corner. If you`re happy with your current configuration and price , go for it.

In which case you save less than $100, and who knows how long that would be.

I've bought a lot of stuff from Dell and have many times kicked myself in the butt for not waiting when I could have because deals a coupons may always pop up down the road. If you can wait give it some time.

Then again, I waited to get my dell late last summer while my brother got a deal like yours. All you know for certain is that this deal is good, and yo seem to have the specs you desire. Their could be a better deal but there could not. I'd say be safe and get it while it lasts
