As you can see from my sig, I've spent a sizable chunk of change on computers the past few months. This is because I have a very mobile lifestyle and Ebayed all my aging systems (Macbook, old Desktop to make room for M17X, and ul30VT because of terrible build quality).
I needed a primary rig, which is my m17x because I'm a pretty serious gamer, a portable gaming rig, the m11x for obvious reasons, and then a business/school laptop.
I decided on the Adamo because of the insanely good build quality, backlit keyboard, and decent battery life.
My question is, I went with the Admire version, with the SU9400 and only 2GB RAM, etc: Am I missing out on not forking over the extra, nearly 1grand, for the Desire version? I figured the difference in processor speed between the SU9300 and SL9600 would be negated by a definite hit to battery life (The SU draws 10 vs 17 from the SL). Also, I don't need the extra SSD space, so that's wasted money. The only thing I'm missing is the extra 2GB RAM. 2GB seems low, can I add 2GB after I receive the unit myself? Or is this like a unibody MBP that I won't be able to open?
Should I just pony up the extra cash and call tomorrow and change my order? Or, based off the fact this while primarily be for office/internet work, the Admire version should be enough?
Again, the main reasons I didn't go for the Desire version was because I thought the SL processor would eat more battery (and Adamo battery life already isn't incredible, it's good, but not incredible), the extra SSD space is a waste of money for me (I have over 3TB of storage externally), so basically it seems I'd be spending nearly a grand for more RAM and better processor at the expense of battery life.

My post is kind of convoluted, sorry.
Biggest question I'd like answered is if I can add, on my end, extra RAM at some point manually. -
no you cannot, memory is soldered on the mobo.

That is unfortunate.

pardes3 is correct unfortunately. There are no customer replaceable items on this particular system and only 2GB and 4GB memory configurations from the factory.
The Adamo is a nice system. It is an ultraportable system, and as long as you respect the shortcomings of the product range, it works very well. I have gotten the opportunity to play with one on a few occasions.
The Latitude Z600 is the same way for memory. The wireless dock and charging stand are pretty cool for that system, however.
Would like some opinions on my Adamo purchase...
