This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Ordered my first Dell on Monday afternoon... a Latitude D505. Just checked and my UPS delivery is scheduled for Friday! If it does indeed show up here tomorrow that'll be a 5 day turnaround from order to delivery! [ :D]

    I'm in Australia and ordered a i8600 6 weeks ago and it was delivered also in 5 days and very happy with purchase.

    one incentive for dell to ship fast is that they can't book the notebook as revenue until it arrives on your doorstep and is signed for [ ;)]

    that's a cynical view though, i'm sure Dell is happy that you're happy with the turnaround speed. enjoy the D505!

    So far so good... I think this is going to suit my needs. I looked at the 9100 but it's just not practical for what I actually need. Definitely not a power user. I now know what I've been missing the last couple of years... boy has hardware come a long way since my old old Thinkpad! [8D]
