Wow...Dell is messed up..Anticipation pt. 2

On the Dell website it says my computer is in production, and that my accessories have shipped... When I look at the DHL tracking information it says that the package is 7lbs. I wonder if there system is just not updated and my computer is on the way or something... Because my accessories are a backpack and a small mouse and a combo lock... That cant possibly weigh 7 lbs... When i call The Dell automated Order status it says that all of them are in the boxing stage....What do you think?

 

Personally i think its shipped. My desktop arrived at my door when dell's site said in production like 6 days after i ordered it. and i had to wait for a delay because of the video card i got in my desktop.

 

Well....This might be alot to ask...but Anyone get the M1330 that could see the weight on there delivery box??? 7lbs well if the laptop is 4 plus a 9 cell batter backpack and everything else i could see it all coming out to be 7lbs.... I really hope its on its way i mean i ordered it saturday and todays monday...I cant stand the wait

 

7lbs? I would think it would be a little more than that but you never know. Could be lucky

Edit: was thinking kilos and typing pounds before this edit.

 

probably not the notebook. the whole thing box and all is more like 12-15lb. on the conservative shippers weight end.

Dell needs to work on their informatin services...The not knowing the updated order status bugs me alot and the Dell forum is full of unanswered questions..they should higher motebook review to do there Forum work

 

I ordered a M1530 and the shipment weight is 13 lbs with DHL, I had to get the tracking # by calling cust service though, did not show on the website.

 

WEll i dont know if its shipped yet at 3pm today it was in testing and now its in boxing so itll pry be shipped anytime but they wont update it for days Probably My accessories shipped at midnight yesterday and it just now says it and i got DHL tracking number

 

Yeah 7lbs seems about right for your accessories. Don't forget that DHL's shipping weights are very well padded (for their benefit). Generally even a thin and light notebook like the m1330 will register between 12 and 15lbs on DHL's website. I hate to break it to you but your system is probably still in boxing. By the way, Dell's Phone Order Status system is far better than their online system (in terms of accuracy and detail).

One more thing...boxing stage generally takes about 2-3 business days because boxing involves the shipment time from Dell's manufacturing facility to the local distribution depot. There is actually a youtube video about Dell's production process, which is worth a watch while you wait for your system. When I was waiting for my m1330, thats really what made the time pass (and yes I watched it over 10 times!!)

Yeah Ive watched every single M1330 video on youtube maybe Ill check out that video..Ive heard that it is more accurate on phone but the phone says my accessories are still in boxing website has dhl tracking number and there gonna be here tomorrow not that it makes me that happy Id rather have computer but I really like getting things delivered its like CHristmas or something

Or Dell should install a way to watch your specific order as it goes through or ever just pick one product and watch it all teh way through the process and how long it takes

Both Dell and DHL tracking is for the birds. When I ordered my M1330 one evening, early the next morning the order status phone line already said it was in boxing but still had 5 days to go until it would ship. Two days later it shipped and DHL had it arriving to me in 3 days. The very next day it arrived at my door.

OP, I understand where you are coming from, when I was waiting for my m1330 I basically called the 1800 automatic order status number every 2 hours to check the status!!! Yeah I was neurotic, but I was worried for other reasons...
