So I got the service tag for my m1330 that's finally being shipped right now, and I noticed this line in the configuration:

    1 Y9530 DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 1GB, 667, 128X64, 8K, 200

My notebook was clearly ordered with 2GB (it's on my invoice and order confirmation) - but if this is the part number for the actual DIMM, shouldn't there be TWO of these to make up a dual channel 2GB configuration?

Is this thing actually going to work with only one?

What does your service tag config look like?

    Thanks!

If the service tag is correct it does sounds like you're only getting 1 Gb, but it might just be a typo... Although Vista will be a bit sluggish with just 1Gb it doesn't matter for the machine, it'll work with either 1 or 2 ram modules. It's cheaper anyway to put in extra ram yourself then order it from dell, but since you've already paid for it......

Yes, there has to be 2 , 1GB modules to make up 2GB dual channel configuration. Wait till you get your notebook.

I say email the dell rep you ordered from and show them the service tag thing and ask them to confirm.
