I would like some feeback from I6000 users on how they like their screens. I will be using the notebook for just about everything, movies, games, word processing. I do not have perfect vision, but my eyes aren't that bad. Which screen would you guys recommend, and why?

You can always increase the DPI on a WSXGA, but are stuck with the lower res on a WXGA.

I recently bought an i6000 with a WSXGA screen and had to return it in exchange for a WXGA. There's no question that the quality of the WSXGA is superior. My problem is my eyesight. Text appears very small and entire web pages would only fill the top quarter of the screen. You can adjust the dpi to fix this but the pages would sometimes be distorted and gif images would be blurred. The adjustment also had no effect in the firefox browser. As I use the computer almost 90% for internet access this was unacceptable to me.My recommondation is that if eyesight is an issue and if you do a lot of web browsing go for the WXGA. If you plan to run a lot of applications at once and need lots of screen space to open multiple windows, or if you're doing extensive digital photography & editing the WSXGA would be a better choice. The WXGA is not he best or brightest laptop screen I've seen but I'm quite pleased with it.

Hmm would I have to use a 15.4 inch widescreen lcd to get a better sense of those screenshots? Because using a 19 inch, all the screenshots look fine

they are caps of a 15.4" screen, but you should be able to see the difference in text size and the amount of real estate between the different resolutions.

Ok, thanks. I think I'm going to get the wsxga, and use 120 dpi if i have to. Thats not going to be a problem is it?
-
i guess it's only a problem if you don't like it. using 120 dpi might throw things off tho. i'm happy with 96 dpi on a wuxga, but that's just me. it really is a personal preference issue.
