Has anyone ever installed an X9000 into a Inspiron 1720? Becuase there are some GM965 chipsets that don't support the X9000.

My brother's 1720 has a measly T8100 CPU, and would benefit from a highend processor. He does video editing.

Allow me to fill that up for you:

If you use Unclewebb's ThrottleStop v2.53 you will be able to OC the X9000 to 3.4 - 3.6GHz.

lolo, SomeFormOfHuman, I was actually going to point you to the new ThrottleStop version. Have you tried raising the voltage, err nevermind I see your sig... I was going to ask you if you can overclock the X9000 in the 1720 now with throttlestop. I suppose that answers that. Sure beats the pin mod. I take it your new 3DMark06 score is with CPU overclock? I was about 200 pts away from your last score. Did you run it with GPU overclock?
