I just ordered a D630 (yay!) with XP Home (it was the cheapest option). However, I already have a brand new copy of Vista Business I got from work, and I was wondering what was the best way to make the switch.

Can I install vista over XP Home? Will it scrap the bloatware? Can I just format my HDD and install Vista from scratch?

    What should I do?

You can do either of those - both will produce the same result. Unless you mean upgrading from XP to Vista Business, which will preserve your files, programs, settings, etc. However, that will also preserve the bloatware. ;)

I suggest formatting and then installing a fresh new copy of Vista Business on the empty hard drive. You could simply install it over XP, which would do the same things - since it has to format it before installing. ;)
