Looking at an M6500, the option for XP downgrade is not available anymore. With MS extending downgrade rights, isn't the XP install disc supposed to be available?

Why do you want to torture yourself with installing XP on a notebook without the proper driver support?

By the way...if you only need XP for some applications you can get some editons of Windows 7 with an embedded XP mode.

I want the XP install disc (actually both XP & 7) because I want to dual boot 7 and XP. That way if the XP mode on 7 doesn't work, for whatever reason, I can boot to XP. As for drivers, they're d/l-able from Dell aren't they...

Not all...driver support for XP is slowing degrading.

There is no reason for XP mode to not work really. Maybe games won't like it, but that'd be about all I can think of.

MS may choose to extend downgrade rights, but OEMs do not have to pass that on to the consumer. In all honesty it is time for XP to die.
