The search feature on these subforums is gone, so please excuse if my question is redundant.

I successfully partitioned my hard drive and installed XP Pro on the newly created partition on my Dell 1720. I found all the necessary drivers et al and even had the bios updated to A9.

My question is how can you prompt the Vista boot menu to show up?

I checked all the Bios settings, but was unable to find anything dealing with Vista or an OS boot menu. I'd appreciate any suggestions as well as directing me to a thread if this topic has been covered.

    TIA

The problem is caused by Microsoft changing the boot files for Vista so XP doesn't recognise them.

There are plenty of guides around. Try this one.

Solved with the Vista DVD & page 4 of your link.

    Thanks!
