Just put on Microsoft XP on the XPS M1530. Its created two harddrives on my computer. One is called the OS (C) and the other called Recovery (D). Problem which im having is that everything which i download onto the desktop and software that i download are being installed onto the Recovery harddrive instead of installing to the C: drive.
At the moment the C drive which has the most space (GB) is like the recovery as it has all the files from my previous settings.
Can anyone tell me how i can make the C: drive my primary hard drive?
Thanks

Well, go into your internet properties and tell it to download to local disk C:

this may be because u installed xp into the D: drive........did ur system come with vista in C: drive..........the best option for u is to reinstall XP and give option to install to C:........ u have other options like u can use a program like tweakXp ( www.totalidea.com) tp change the default folder locations.....so u can have C: drive as effective primary drive

im about to install xp again and im in the partition stage. Theres 2 partitions, the OS (C: drive) 225556 MB and theres the Recovery (D: drive) 10240 MB.
Shall i delete the the OS (C: Drive) and then create a new one? -
yes of course........i would recommend that step.......the dell recovery partition is crap...delete it and C: and do ur own custom partition.......my recommendation is to go for a 10Gb drive for C: and a 15 Gb drive for installing programs and the rest a/c ur needs.......(try not to install programs in c: this will increase performance by giving more expansion area for pagefile)
