I've been keeping an eye on the Vostro 1500 for about 2 weeks now.. looking for a deal.... im just about to pull the trigger.. anyways, i've built multiple computers and now all the sudden its telling me that XP home isnt compatible with the internal bluetooth???? never had that problem before when I was building it.. whats up with that??? anyone know?

I hope not cause I cancelled my order on my 1700 cause of Vista. I placed another order today for the Vostro 1500 with XP Professional. I hope someone chimes in soon.

Damn, I just checked and the compatibility message comes up. It didn't do that earlier today.

at least i know im not going crazy now....

i must have missed your thread cause I posted another about the same problem. You are not crazy. I have already ordered mine and it is shipped.

I have the 355 module in my XPS M1210 under XP Pro (with WIDCOMM driver). If new Vostros are using the same thing, then I don't see why it shouldn't work
.

Not sure why they would tell you that, but my Vostro 1500 has the Bluetooth module and it works just fine with XP Home. I have successfully paired it with my Blueant X3 headset and was able to hear sound through it as through normal headphones. As a matter of fact, pairing through Bluetooth cures the interference present in the headphone jack since you're completely bypassing the circuitry.
