Since a month or something, windows xp (hangs) on the blue shutting down/welcome screen doing nothing (no hd activity) for 10-15 seconds.

I find this strange, i allready did the task manager tricks of concluding processes and then restart the comp.

Anyone, have any idea what i can do about this?

    Greetings,

    Tim.

Check out a program called Microsoft Bootvis and let it optimize your start up sequence.

I'd also scan for any viruses or malware on the PC to be safe.

Bootvis is great! Also, it helps to remove some processes from starting up using msconfig/startup, just Google the filenames and see if you need them.

Normally hangs on boot up or shut down are due to driver or software conflicts. Can you remember if you installed any software before this started happening?

No i can't remember any major changes, other than logitech mouse software, but excluding that in msconfig still doenst do the job.

Scanning for virusses, crapware, malware, spyware didnt help either.

    Going to try bootvis...
