    just got an email..this sucks

June 18 is the last day you can choose your operating system: Windows(R) XP or Windows Vista(R) .Dell offers you the choice that best fits your business. But act fast, because after June 18, Windows XP will no longer be offered on Dell™ laptops and desktops.

Dude. Awkward. Not everyone wants Vista, and I honestly can't blame them. Dell, offer Ubuntu.

Don`t worry, XP will still be available in many places.
Just buy the system without an OS.

Vista is no longer fail, and XP has had a very good run, but its time for it to go.

Right now, I have my Version of Vista Home using 120mb of my Ram, thats awesome. This is ofcourse with almost everything unneccesary disabled, basic 98 look, no background picture.

Well, it's not really reasonable to expect them to ship it forever. It's pretty amazing that the've continued to ship it for as long as they have...a full 17 months after the release of Vista. I doubt that they continued to ship any previous OS that long after the release of its successor.

I realize that some people seem to prefer XP, but there comes a point when they need to make their own arrangements if they want a previous OS. It's not like I'd expect a mainstream vendor to ship me a system with Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.

LONG LIVE XP. But consumers can just buy ultimate and ask for an XP Pro upgrade.
