    Hi,
I got my XPS 1210 and promptly installed a stripped down version for XP. I installed the default set of graphics drivers from the Dell CD. I think it is Nvidia 84.26 - is anyone using a more latest version of the Nvidia drivers. I dont want to unnecessarily install new drivers

    thanks

you can go to nvidia's and get their latest drivers or go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com and get their modified drivers. i went with laptopvideo2go drivers.

    hope that helps

What about if you're a fairly avid gamer? Any recommendations for LV2G or TweaksRUs drivers?

Just as a side note, playing HL2: Ep1 the other day, the Steam client recommended that I use 91.47, but are there any recent versions better than this?

Steam recommended ForceWare v91.47 probabally because that is the latest official NVIDIA WHQL certerfied drivers for Windows 2k/XP.

As a few have already mentioned above, if you are not really that fussy about squeezing every single last drop of performance out of your system (i.e. not a gamer or a power user/enthuist), then sticking to Dell's official releases will be fine for media playback, or even some causal gaming.

Personally, I am on Windows Vista RC2 hence I am kind of "forced" to use the patched/hacked drivers from LaptopVideo2Go (as Dell have not put out any Vista drivers yet and I won't expect them to do so until January'07 when Vista goes retail).

I would stick with whichever the latest official WHQL certified revision is avaliable from NVIDIA, which at this moment is still ForceWare v91.47 for Windows 2k/XP.

As for the people running Vista RC2/RTM, ForceWare v97.27 ( 32-bit version here, 64-bit version here) is your best choice, as it fixes the previous texture shimmering/rendering issues they had.
