I dont know if anyone noticed but the XPS 1210 is now $1200.
-
Do you know when this happened? Because I just ordered one (see sig) yesterday, and if it changed today im going to have to make a call.
-
Im not totally sure but it would have been either today or a few days ago. Im not sure if you can change your order to reflect the new price; you might have to cancel it and make a new one.
-
You should be able to call Order support and they will probably charge you at the 1200 price. Normally they'll do this if the price has changed within 24-48 hours of your purchase.
If worse comes to worse, cancel it and reorder it. -
Alright, thanks for the help.

There are 30% off XPS coupons through Dell EPP also. I got the base configuration m1210 and added the GeForce 7400 and got it for $850. Coupons are good through July 5th. Check eBay.
-
WOW!!
How do you access the coupon? I got EPP and configured one but its not 30% off. -
Dell sends out coupons to people who have accounts with them. Often times people will sell these coupons on eBay. Go there and do a search on "dell coupon XPS EPP" and there should be some for sale. I bought one for $3.00 last night, but it looks like they are going up now. But look at it this way, the coupon is going to knock off $375 from a $1250 m1210. You should also get an additional 4% standard EPP discount.
-
Are all the sellers good? Theres a few selling for a dollar. Also if they have to ship it to you then wont you get it after the coupon expires?
-
Most of them have a remote system set up that will deliver the coupon code immediately. Check their feedback and buy from someone with a solid reputation. I've bought a number of coupons from different sellers over the past 6 months and they've all come through just fine.
-
which ones have the feature that emails you the code immediately? I read a few and they dont say anything about that.
-
What if I don't have an EPP account at Dell? I'm a university student and my university sells cheap Dells, but they image them and only sell through the store ...
I really, really, really want to do this EPP thing : ( -
I pulled the trigger via www.dell.com/eppbuy as well. A NICELY loaded M1210 for $1248.00

Pulled the trigger on mine yesterday... $1938 (before tax) down to $1053 (before tax), 1.83Ghz, 100GB HD, 1GB Ram, AV comm pkg, 7400 Go, DVD burner, 3 year warranty. Almost pulled the trigger on that costo deal for $1299... glad I waited.

This thread just made me the happiest person ever.
For the record, I have no idea what my institution's EPP code is -- I know we have one, because they sell Dells to students at much lower prices, but they reimage them and make you buy through the school store. But I googled online and shortly found someone who (foolishly?) posted their EPP code online. $4 and my first ebay transaction ever (scary!!) ...... and I'm saving $500 on a beautiful m1210. If you buy from ebay you can pay with a credit card, and they email it to you within 5 minutes ... very safe and convienent!
The sony sz was bigger and less heavy, but the m1210 has just kicked its ass in terms of price. Thank you, this thread, for making me a slightly less broke student
edit: for the person wondering about the ebay coupons, here is a link to an ebay person selling email coupon codes that are garunteed to work on xps ... i think, they seem to be. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZsonicQ5fcoupon -
Um... isn't the person whose EPP code you used going to be able to track that someone else (you) used it?
-
How did you get that price? I configured the same one and it was over $1400.
-
A simple google search for "Dell EPP code" ... It's just a code for the company, and a guy on fatwallet practically begged the public to use his -- a long time ago. It's the first google response, so it's not exactly hard to find. Though I now feel very unethical, and have wavered on pulling the trigger. I may email my (university IT dept) boss tonight and try to get my university's EPP code ... I know we have one, and I'd feel more ethical. I'm just afraid of the coupon disappearing.
m1210 + gfx card + av package + extra 9 cell
- 30% coupon
= end cost of $1046.30
If only I had the guts to charge it now, and half my poor bank account.
-
costco's deal is waaay better imo (without any epp stuff). I started to config. it similarly to costco and the price just shot up.
-
I configured that same system and its 1306 without tax. Am I missing a coupon?
-
Costco's deal is good. I did considerably better. I paid less, and got more. Heck, XP Pro alone is $150.00 more let alone the 7200rpm HD, bluetooth and 3 year in home warranty. No notebook today should come without bluetooth wether you use it or not imo.
I almost bought the Costco XPS M1210 as well.
