After having my 1330 keyboard replaced
free of charge by Dell, I went to my local
PC place where they have a 1330 on display.

And the keyboard on it is noticeably better,
not spongey, than even my 2nd keyboard
    at home.

Has anyone else noticed a substantial
difference in 1330 keyboards shipped out
    with computers recently?

    Thanks

Newer keyboards are cheaper and softer. I had mine replaced twice but ended up with softer ones in the end.

The one with p/n NK750 is quite good.. Solid metal backing, no flex.

Wish I could buy it separately. I was told that I cannot ask for that model specifically and that they are no longer purchasing that model, just the other 2 which have holes in them.

Can't be.. I got a replacement keyboard, 2 weeks ago, which was this very part... Besides, the others suck.

They said they still have some in stock but only order the other models new... but then again I'm not sure I can trust what they say. It turns out these keyboards are on ebay for £15 so I'll just buy one from there.

    Thanks I have just gotten a NK750
from an Ebay supplier -- hope it's
better than the two I have now...

How do you find out the p/n number and which ones are not good (and why) if the nk750 is so good :)? Much thanks!

It's on the box in which the part ships. It's also listed on a sticker attached to he part in question. As to whether a particular part is good or not, that is based on experience with it...

There are 3 versions that I'm aware of. 2 of them have very flexible backing plates which makes them flex when typing and more prone to the bulge problem.

Does anyone know what the id numbers of the other versions are? I think I can tell which keyboard I have by checking what is listed on the service tag information list under the warrenty section of the dell website.
