I'm looking at buying a 1330. The LED screen is an extra £50 in the UK. Is the upgrade worth it? If so, why (in real world use, not just 'cos it's brighter'. why is that necessarily better). Also, are there any quality control issues on the standard LCD vs the LED LCD? Is a machine with one screen more or less likely to have a better build quality than the other?

    Thanks for your input.

For £50 more, definitely worth it.

When I bought mine, I had to get the normal screen because it was like $300 (£150) extra

U wont notice until you put two side by side but the LED screen is a more 'pure' white whereas you will see how yellowish CCFL screens are if you ever compare.

Its also much brighter and more battery efficient.

What wrong with the WHITE one, I never heard anyone around here mention about the white. I just ordered mine on the 15th and wont get it until at least the 28th but I heard alot nice things about the LED screen, lighter, brighter, etc...GO FOR IT!!

i went for black and i like it! i also have the CCFL screen and i really like it, after seeing it i don't think it is worth it for the LED, the CCFL looks great. But like with the LED all the screens aren't created equal. my first 1330 had some noname brand LCD and the second one had a LG, the LG is too blueish, the noname had perfect colors, and was a pleasure to look at! also from what i have read there is no battery benefits! just brighter! Also with that $150 you can buy a 20"+ external LCD monitor to use while at home...

given the choice to get a free led upgrade, i would opt out on it. the led displays grainy and very distracting. i even had the toshiba screen. i ended returning that sytem because of the led. it seems most people don't seem to notice though.

    just an opinion.

i am considering buying the 1330 but i am confused with the LED screen business!can you help please? so if the LED screen makes the battery more efficient does that mean i will get from 6 cell battery with LED screen similar usage to 9 cell battery with LCD screen?

Colour wise i'd say red or get black and a skin from lapjacks.com.

I'd say LED Backlit like me but hey I don't notice much of a difference.

Maybe its just my depleting Eye sight..

ccf's look yellow, go for blue goes well with the silver and blue led's, new and fresh colour that nobodys got yet.

you would get more battery life out of the LED if you turned it down to the ccf's brightness!

People go on all the time about the lcd screens, its all crap, as long as it doesn’t have backlight bleeding, dead pixels or noticeable defects its great! you can always change the screen anyway! if your that picky!

most people are getting microscopes out on their screens to check if they’re ok! Common

Does anyone have actual pictures comparing the 1330 LED VS 1330 CCFL screen? I have searched but could not find it anywhere.

I am undecided between CCFL with 2.0 mega pixel webcam, and White LED with 0.3 mega pixel webcam. Webcam use is important to me but should it be a deciding factor here, or is there any significant difference between the two in terms of quality ?

EDIT: No reply needed now thanks. Someone else asked the same question in a separate topic today, and I have read the answers there.
