Nah, it won't. In power save mode vcore is almost cut in half... well, by a third, that's for sure, so I doubt there'd be any tangible benefit in terms of battery life when going from 7300 to 7100

I've got the t7300 with a 6-cell. While just internet browsing and typing i get over 3 hrs. I haven't timed it really but probably around 3:15. I'm real happy with it. ... except that it's not fully charging (again... this is my second/replacement battery).

those pics were awesome except now I want mine now I dun wanna wait anymore. The size comparison to the K800 was awesome coz I have that phone and looking at the pics the laptop is even thinner than i thought :). And the T7300 should only draw more power when its at 100% speed but in normal use it will be clocked lower anyway so should still have good battery life.

Ah yes, this is true. For comparison's sake, here are the lower power states that I've been able to see.

    1.2GHz - 0.938V
    0.8GHz - 0.850V

Any ideas what it is with the T7300 and above?

Thanks! Yeah it's quite a sleek system. Either this laptop's pretty thin or the K790 (North American frequencies) I have's a little chunky. ;)

can anyone comment on possible battery life savings with a 1.66Ghz processor (T5450) over 1.8(T7100) or 2Ghz(T7250)? I'm more after battery life than scintillating performance.

I get 3.5-4.5 hours w/ 9cell, everything turned on, and highest brightness.

I was defragging, and websurfing at the same time.

My T7300 runs at 1.6Ghz - 0.9V when on battery. (battery saving power scheme)

btw: i did some minor experiments with underclocking the 8400GS and found out that i can prolly gain 20-30 minutes of battery life. Anyone tried to find the memory and core frequencies sweet spot?

i ordered xps 1330 but i have to return it because of the heating issue.. i was told that the only way to fix heat issue was to use SDD Harddrive but i refuse because of the high price.. i ordered with 2.0mp cam..

Now im planning to order again the xps 1330 because i think there is already solution to the heating issue.. which is much recommended.. screen using LED backlight .03 camera or normal LCD with 2mp camera? im into watching movies and i will bring it to university.. im also a gamer go im choosiung nvidia 8400..

With Vista, Power Save Mode, lowest brightness, and all the possible tweaks i get 4,30+ hours with a 6 cell battery while taking notes on word and browsing the web. Of course i'm not writing, browsing every second, some times it's on idle but for university it's an awesome duration.

How are people getting three hours of battery life on a six-cell battery? I only get 1.45 at the most...

Could I ask anyone how warm the laptop gets while doing everyday tasks (browsing the 'net, writing a word document etc)?

I have an HP DV200 at the moment, thinking of switching to a 1330 because I only get about 1h30 battery life and the machine heats up to quite a high temperature (pretty much to hot to touch underneath).

    Thanks.

Not uncomfortably warm at all. For mine anyway, think a little above room temperature. I think it's the perfect level of heat, warm enough to be comfortable and not too warm :p
Using the 156.66 drivers it doesn't heat up that much while gaming either compared to the 163.16, which did heat up the palm rest.

In these sorts of things it would be helpful if people could say what screen they are using whether be LED or CCFL.
Nearly all online reviews don’t mention this but I would tend to imagine that they would test on balanced mode or performance.

Btw, I can get 4 hours on power saver mode with brightness at 30% with Bluetooth of and wifi on doing pretty continous web surfing. I haven’t tested it just doing some simple office work only with Bluetooth and wifi disabled. I have the LED screen.

I think that you should be able to get at least 3 hours in power saver mode web surfing with the same settings as above. If you have the LED screen it may extend your battery life a bit further.

My XPS M1330 also does not get hot at all it runs cool mind you though i don't game so have not tested it under full load but with normal useage it runs cool.
These are from some reviews these were all tested with 8400GS card-
