After ordering my XPS 1330 (in the UK), I received a rather odd email:
Huh? That makes no sense. I was buying the slowest processor (intending to upgrade it myself), but surely that doesn't matter?
I called them, and after being passed around for a bit, was connected to a woman who told me the reader was incompatible with Windows Vista.
That makes even less sense.
I told her I didn't care, as I was going to put Linux on the machine anyway (I know, this was a mistake, I should have played dumb). She got confused and promised me a call back within half an hour.
Well, it's an hour later and I very much doubt they're going to call me. So does anyone have any idea what's going on, 'cos I don't and it really looks like Dell don't either...

I'm not sure I want to ask them again - the "Vista" answer took me 20 minutes of waiting on hold and being transfered. I should probably just cancel the order and start again...

hmmm.... I would give you a number to call but since it is xps they would xfer you any way... sorry. um... makes me wonder why the are offering a device on a machine that is only running vista that is not compatible with it. I really doubt she knew what she was talking about. I would call back. see if they will let you speak with an RS or at least have the tech check with one right then. wich I could help more though.
