You shouldn't need to send it back in, they should just be able to come out and replace your palmrest with one that includes the fingerprint reader... I remember reading about someone else with the same problem, apparently all they have to do is connect a couple of wires for the reader, and replace the palmrest.

You order a replacement. They send it to you. You then send yours back.

Okey, well, this will be solved in some way, i hope they will be able to fix it without me been left out of computer, cause the old one is now deleted and reinstalled aswell. So that will take me 8 more hours to get that one up to date. :(

Strange! I got my XPS M1330 yesterday but the fingerprint reader is missing. I am also in Sweden and did receive the Spanish manual. Called Dell and the said they could either repay the sum for the ordered missing fingerprintreader or I can send it back NOW and wait for a new laptop ie SIX weeks.
I dont think I am ever getting a Dell again.

They will send you a replacement, and you can simply switch HD's and be up and running again with your new XPS. You should not have to send it back. At least in the US thats how it works. They send you the new notebook with a prepaid package and you put your old one in and ship it back to them. No wait time.

Dell called me back and said that they will ship me a new computer in 4-6 weeks and that I may keep this one meanwhile. They couldn't explain how it happened. But it is strange that it is happening to several people and that we also get the Spanish manuals. From Sweden. Shifting the harddrives is a great idea! Thanks!

Hi, I got my XPS M1330 yesterday (Czech republic, Prague) and guess... no fingerprint reader. Huh! But I am still lucky I got manual in czech, not in spanish :))) They told me they will fix it immediately, just change palmrests. Uf...

Another problem is, that I miss bluetooth modul, it is not inside. I hope they will fix it as well.
