Hi,
I have a XPS15 L501X and the HD has just died.
I'm looking to replace it with a new SSD, I have one in my desk top but I didn't install it.
Would either of these be suitible replacements:

or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CT2...773&sr=1-20&keywords=laptop+solid+state+drive
I have read that they can be a little tricky to setup, is that true?
I moved house recently and can't find my original disks for my laptop; is there anywhere I can leagally download windows 7 Home Prem and use the product key on the back of my laptop to activate it?
Thanks for any help
Tom

yes either of those drives will work as they are 7mm high, I believe you can go as high as a 9.5 mm drive in that laptop.
as for getting a copy of windows 7 check this thread out
