Bluetooth: Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0+Enhanced Data Rate)

I planned to replace the Dell Ram and buy 4 GB for 70-80 Dollars in an internet store.

I don’t need much space, and I’m not gaming much, therefore just the Geforce 8400M

Maybe I will get the fourth year of warranty, get the 70 $ Gift, and sell it on ebay for maybe 60 bucks. That would mean a 20 $ upgrade to 4 years warranty!!

    Price is $1,111.36
    Shipping free, Tax 93 $
    (EPP+400$ coupon)
    __________________
    4 GB Ram (online) ~ 80 $ [Lifetime Warranty]

    TOTAL: ~ 1280 $

Besides, either I pay with an American Express , so that I would get another (5th) year of warranty or with the Dell Preferred Account with no interest until 2009.
Will Dell reps. give me more rebate on my system? (Maybe if I go for the Dell Preferred Account?)

Or do u have better deals that I do not know of ?

I bought it through the EPP and my total was $1,072 with the same exact configuration as yours, except I had a 3 year warranty. And I got 4GB of ram from New Egg for $61 shipped. So that is $1,133 total...beat you by $147! :)

I agree with him. If you plan on doing gaming, the GPU is a must.

The Battery is highly suggested, but not required depending on how long you like to go without conencting to AC.

The 7200RPM drive isn't really a must. i find it's more of a luxury that very few will notice the difference between the 5400's.

The CPU, go for the 2.2GHz. the 4MB cache instead of the 2MB cache is a great upgrade. I really with i had gone for the upgrade. that's really my only regret with my machine.

Either way, you'll have a great machine.

What do you plan on doing with this laptop?

if you get it through EPP and the ongoing $669 discount, you could have gotten a way better deal!

AMEX will extend warranty from the 4th to the 5th year. As long as it is a DELL extended warranty, purchased from DELL. This was taken from the AMEX website...

    • If you purchase an additional service contract or extended warranty with a product which is otherwise eligible
under the Buyer's Assurance Plan, and the combined coverage provided by both the original manufacturer’s
warranty and the purchased service contract does not exceed five years, then the product is eligible for coverage
under the Buyer's Assurance Plan. The Buyer's Assurance Plan will extend the warranty time period and mirror
coverage of the original manufacturers' warranty up to one additional year after both the original
manufacturer’s warranty and the purchased service contract have expired. If, however, you purchase an
American Express® Service Plan with a purchase from American Express Merchandise Services, the Buyer's
Assurance Plan will apply before the Service Plan is in effect. If the combined coverage of the original
manufacturer’s warranty and the purchased service contract exceeds five years then the product purchased is
not eligible under the Buyer's Assurance Plan and no coverage applies.
    • If you buy an additional service contract or an extended warranty for a computer, computer component or part
that already comes with an original U.S. Manufacturer’s warranty, unless such coverage is provided from and
administered by the original manufacturer, coverage under the Buyer’s Assurance Plan does not apply.

High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch LCD(1440x900)
    2MP Camera
3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
160GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive Free Fall Sensor
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT
Dell Wireless 1490 802.11a/g Mini Card

    1424 $
    (used the epp + 677 $ deal)
just 124 $ more than the system above, and if you like you can upgrade to 4gb by buying a 2gb dimm from newegg.com for 40 bucks.
