Hi guys,
I just became a member of XPS 1530 club, but I still have some questions.
I noticed that in 80% of my work/not work on lap the fan is always on level 2, and when just chating or surfing my CPU temp is about 40C-45C. Is this normal, or could this be a defect?
I didn't check when playing games, but after two hours playing the front left side gets extremly hot.

45C CPU is very cool. You have a good 20 degrees to go.
-
New info:
Now when using MSN and IE and nothing else, after 2 hours the temp is increasing up to 52C?
Is cooling pad worth buying for those people playing game sa lot on 1530? For example I run Flight Simulator on my XPS and FS needs a lot of CPU calculation, so it get's very hot and fan very loud -
a cooler would be great for gaming, and will increase the lifespan of your laptop's components. =)
-
what are some good coolers for the XPS 1530?
-
There are alot of coolers out there ranging from size. Such as Zalman, Targus, cooler master..etc..etc, google some up
-
I personally prefer Zalman for their stylistic designs, but for efficiency and airflow, I guess Belkin is still the best...
-
which would fit the 1530 better? Zalman ZM-NC1000 or Zalman ZM-NC2000?
-
How do you check the temperature of your CPU?
-
Most people 'round these parts use i8kfangui.

I noticed now that in some normal use (browsing+music listenig) my 1530 notebook gets very hot...I check with few CPU Temp programs, and all shows the average CPU temp (in normal use) to be 55-60? It's T7250 processor.
Is there a defect part or is it just normal to have such high temp? -
for checking the temperatures use
http://www.cpuid.com/
http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php
for checking the gpu details
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/
don't be alarmed if the gpu shows a lower frequency, it is nVidia's power saving feature. -
get the nc2000 and some of the belkin ones suck shawnhao! have u tried a zalman?
