Hey I am trying to use the HDMI out on my XPS 1530 to my TV. I unplugged the HDMI cable from my satellite box and plugged it into my XPS 1530 and set the tv to HDMI input, but my TV says no signal...any idea how to get it to work?

By the way, I am running Ubuntu 7.10

1- Cross posting (posting the same thing across multiple forums) is not allowed.
2- Wait at least 24 hours before bumping.

Did you switch the output by pressing Fn+F8 ? If it doesn’t work, then take a look at this thread.

The easiest thing to do for me and my dual monitor setup, was to use the graphical nVidia configuration tool for linux, nvidia-settings. Works great (I'm using the 169.07 Linux drivers, BTW), and it lets you configure your video setup like using the nVidia control panel on Windows. The bonus is that once you have things configured the way you like it, you can save the configuration to your xorg.conf file.

    Good Luck..
