Hi,
I'm looking for a European power cord for the 3 prong AC Adapter with the XPS 1530. I've been looking all over the European and UK sites without any luck. However alot of their cords seem compitable with most Latitude and Inspiron Notebooks, will the same cord work for the 1530 power adapter?
For example this one http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sn...dhs1&sku=450-10487&dgc=SS&cid=5186&lid=121454
Thanks!

anyone knows?
any European power cord, official or not will be fine, thanks -
as long as its 90w, it will work. i have switched adapters for my inspiron 9100, xps m1530, and inspiron 600m multiple times, even though the inspiron came with a 150w adapter, it worked on the other two... just got to make sure it has the right prong to fit into the computer.

yeah, i think most dell power cords and adapters are similar unless you get one of the 17" xps gaming laptops, which have xbox 360-worthy power bricks.
But otherwise, all the prongs are the same, I think. -
Hi,
Are you looking for the power cord, which plugs into the socket, or the whole power unit, comprising power brick (which has the cable into laptop) and power cable to socket.
If just the power cable, I think any of the 3 prong plugs will work (which look like they fit). I use my girlfriends ACER and IBM cables quite often, as they are longer/shorter thank my Dell, ebay sells quite a few, at very reasonable prices.
On the other hand, if you're talking about the power brick, I'm pretty sure you can only use the 90W Dell one (try ebay)
Hope this helps. -
londoner135,
were you able to use a power lead for a different model to plug into your power brick?
I want to get a longer lead for my M1530 and have found one in Dell's Small Business shop ( http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=bsd&cs=ukbsdt1&sku=450-11144), which is 1m longer than the standard M1530 replacement ( http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sn...&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=450-11001&mfgpid=1178802) and also rated at 250V.
However, it doesn't list the M1530 in its compatibility list or have any of the same models as the standard replacement cable - it's probably actually just an age thing, since all of the models listed are the prior model to those listed for the standard replacement cord (eg Inspiron 9200 vs 9300 on the new one).
Given your experience using a generic Dell cable, do you think it will work?
PS You also appear to be able to get two for the price of one of the above cord until 1st Aug, as there's free shipping when you order more than one, which is equal to the price of an additional cable.
