Do you have a program that is called Fingerprint Reader Suite? If so, use that program. It should be on there, so got to it in Start menu and go to Fingerprint Turtorial...

When i got my Dell it was on the desktop as an icon. I believe you get the software on CD though.

Nope, there isn't any CD software for the Fingerprint Reader. I guess Dell forgot to install it onto your computer? O well, the fingerprint reader honestly isn't worth it. I tried it myself, and it's REAL HARD to get it to scan your finger well. I don't know if thats just me though...

If you still can't find the Finger print reader suite software, you can download from Dell support website, it can take you there by way of your service tag, and it's found under "Security".

How to use it was a pain, I tried and tried until I read somewhere on this forum that you have to moisten your finger(s) (with water or most accessible from your body "a magic lick") and press down to the grove and slowly swipe it downward. Once you get the first successful reading, then you are home free. Good luck.
