Are the XPS 1530's now shipping with a three prong plug or are they still shipping the two prong plugs?

I'd be surprised if they're shipping with two-prong adapters, but maybe Dell's trying to get rid of old stock before making the switch.

Has anyone that has received a two prong plug been able to have dell replace it with a three prong one?

Don't even worry about it. I got my 1530 with a two prong, hopped on Dell Chat and was promptly sent a three prong via DHL Airborne at no charge. Dell knows about the 2 prong issue.

    You're missing the ground.

As for my question, I have an Inspiron E1505 and am replacing it with the XPS M1530. Will my current E1505 plugs including the slim air/car/ac adapter work with my M1530?

Mine came with a three prong from the get-go.

The cable they use has the same plug on the end as my Asus notebooks. I suspect it is a fairly common format. Therefore, it'd be pretty easy to replace it yourself.

I believe it is called a Cloverleaf plug or more correctly an IEC 320 (or IEC C5). Check out the C5 pic here:

If you get a 2 prong, call in and they ship you a 3 prong, do you get to keep both? Or do they include the typical prepaid waybill to return the 2 prong?

What a joke. I contacted Dell Chat and the person kept trying to tell me they don't make a three prong for the XPS M1530. Had to link him or her to this thread as well as the threads on Dell's own website on the issue. Finally agreed to send me the three prong. Be persistent with Dell folks. It's the only way you'll get any results!

With 2 prong cables people are getting zapped :) when touching their laptop.
Dell assured everyone that it is not harmful to both your laptop or you.

I haven't gotten zapped yet, though I haven't used my notebook in the rain yet, either.
