I've noticed this just now. If my feet make contact with the floor ( earth ), and I move my palm over the metallic surface around the touchpad, i get this funny feeling of static. Anyone else noticed this?

I had that happen with the Vostro 1500 when I put my fingers over the side. Hasn't happened with the XPS M1530 though.

That because the palm rest/touch pad have electricity running through them. That's what's causing the static in the headphones on some of the other models. And why you feel tingly when you ground yourself and touch the surface.

Thanks. That's what I thought too. Though it seems like its not happening to the systems? Could mine be faulty. I'm getting it replaced anyhow though as I had bad screen.
